I Have Joy

I have joy in my life.  My oldest sons are married.  I have two grandchildren.  My only daughter is going to graduate, like her older brothers, from college.  I have helped make five human beings who are happy or will be.  Smart enough to figure life out for them.  Good enough.  What more can a parent ask?

I wish...............a hell of a lot of things.  I regret even more.  But, grin.................watching them grow, live, love, laugh................oh, gosh, I close my eyes and I am grateful and happy.  If I could make the world perfect for them, I would.  I can't.  So............I love them.  It's all any of us can do.

Well, I don’t know why you wouldn’t “believe this”, humans experience joy. It’s part and parcel of living whether or not some admit it. Celebrate joy. Hell, we moan and complain about the bad stuff enough, joy happens, too. Grin. We get to say that.

But get this, humans are life’s cancer. But we can all have joy to.

Now please ’splain to me how this “evil bad nasty person” you advertise yourself as managed to have at least 4 children who not only survived but are doing well and right?

Five, darlin’, FIVE. Because……………………………….I picked great fathers for them. Hate the one abusive, drug-addicted idiot picked at my lowest point, BUT………….he loves his son.

Still doesn’t explain the conundrum of how they turned out so well while you try to convince us of how horrible you are

I left. Deep breath. I left. Granted, the fathers stood by my “rules of life”, but………..I left. I deserve to be hated. I have no defense.

Just let me be the bad guy. I’m now comfortable with that role. Well, not comfortable, but, I’m used to it. I can live and die with it.

Oh, yeah……………I divorced the fathers and, with WAY less money, decided their father’s, with WAY more money, could give them what I wanted for them. I made a decision, my children hate me for it, my contemporaries tell me I “could have, should have”……but…………..I made the decision and it’s all my fault.
